Merthyr Valleys Homes is a not-for profit housing association with a forward-thinking attitude towards regeneration and giving back to the community, having already paved the way in co-operative housing by becoming the first mutually run housing association in Wales.
Alongside their lovely marketing team, I was asked to develop MVH’s new brand, which at this stage was in its infancy and in dire need of a solid foundation. The brand needed some life, a vibrant new look that would respond with its audience and reflect the good quality, affordable homes and excellent services. A new colour palette was introduced to create a much more personal and friendly image. The new style was adopted across all touch points, such as online tools, presentations and roll banners, and just for good measure I wrote the brand guidelines too.
The association mainly communicates with residents through literature so we produced information leaflets and quarterly newsletter ‘Hometalk’ to build more of a community amongst them and keep them regularly informed and involved in what’s going on. Crisp, modern design elements were used, alongside playful illustrations specific to each article. Hometalk has been brought up to date and can finally be noticed and admired!

“We have had the pleasure of working with for Gillian for over two years, Gillian is very approachable and down to earth and no query is too small – even when she has had to work to a tight deadline with changes being made right at the last minute. The service we have experienced has been excellent and the quality of the work produced by Gillian is always of a high standard. Thank you Gillian, we would recommend you to any organisation looking for a reliable service with high quality designs.”
